The World of Social Software: Implications For Libraries. GUGM 2007. May 17, 2007.

Learn how Web 2.0 tools are being used for education and outreach in libraries and higher education. In the Web 2.0 world, many libraries are experimenting with social software applications to reach and teach their users. This session introduces a variety of social software tools – blogs, Flickr, and podcasting – and examines their impact on libraries and place within the larger world of higher education. Attendees will come away with examples of how these tools are being used and tips for considering implementation in their libraries.
